About

I stumbled on the word Cullaways while reading The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows and was obliterated.

Cullaways
the scattering of memories that your brain is actively forgetting at any given moment, erasing them one by one with no input from you and no knowledge that it’s happening at all—which means that when you wake up in the morning, your past will feel imperceptibly altered, with no trace of what you ate last week, a party you attended ten years ago, or the first real conversation you had with your grandfather.

Never has a word been so palpable, so eerie, and so connective. My life was a cullaway.

Everyone has a hobby. Everyone collects things. Recipes, shows, food, memories. My little corner of the world has always been content consumption. But not reels — hidden, clandestine, and untouched forms of content. The ever elusive search for Mimir’s Well.

Consistently finding a website that had troves of riches, magic carpets, and lamps, but never actually digging in. Never letting the words stain me, form me, or extrapolate the arts. Just… finding.

Cullaways is the mission to change that. To purvey fantastic content for you, but selfishly, to swallow it for me. To spend time digesting and marinating in all that I’ve found, like a pirate who’s never counted his coins.

There is no direction here, and don’t expect it to take form. This will not be like the eleven drawings of a bull by Picasso, where the longer we explore, the smaller the aperture gets. If anything, it will be more like gazing into the cosmos — going from seeing the moon, to the universe, the galaxy, to the infinite that is dark matter.

By trade I’m an Account Executive and have been for over 8 years with a rich tapestry of experience. My reading habits have brought me to fiction, physics, science, robotics, data, creativity, poetry, writing, design, racing, aerodynamics.

There isn’t a connective tissue, and no amount of linear thinking will connect the dots. There isn’t a plan to tie the horse to the cart.

But if that sounds exciting — to crack it all open and not let content be distributed by AI synopsis but by fantastic writers and creators — join the ride.

I certainly won’t be the leader force or the creative engine, but I hope my taste can help you find someone worthy of following.

This is the quest to find the best gems on the internet. The blogs, podcasts, books, youtube videos, that are denser then Neutron Stars.

If nothing else I hope to be your sommelier, and give you wine worth drinking slowly.
